Keizer Community Food Bank

About us

Why we run a rescue without a kennel.

Keizer Community Food Bank provides free groceries to Keizer-area families who need help stretching the month. We are a small, volunteer-led pantry on River Road North, part of the network of Oregon food assistance programs that steps in when paychecks do not quite cover it.

Keizer sits just north of Salem and has its own distinct community of families, seniors, and workers whose cost of living has crept up faster than wages. We exist to make sure nobody in that community skips a meal because the grocery bill ran out.

We do not ask for ID. We do not ask for income verification. We ask you to come in, say hello, and leave with enough food to get through the week.

Our volunteers are neighbors. Our food comes from community drives, partner stores, and the Oregon Food Bank network. Our hours expand when demand spikes, shrink when it eases, and every shift is staffed by people who live here.

Leadership and governance

We are governed by a five-member volunteer board that meets quarterly. Day-to-day operations are led by a small paid staff. Full bios and our annual Form 990 are available on request.

Financial transparency

Our most recent audit is available upon request at [email protected]. Over 91% of expenses fund direct animal care. Administrative costs run under 6%; fundraising under 3%.
